Abstract

Fast food chains and restaurants are spreading all over the world. Food establishments are the common choice of the people because of its timesaving products and fast service. Nowadays, people are getting busier on their own time resulting of difficulties on their food preparations and time. They preferred to eat in fast foods and restaurants than in their own house. Due to the fast service including fast food preparation that the food establishments offers to their customers, food establishments are contributing a lot of waste every day. In this study, the researcher want to know the answer if the fast food chain and restaurant are following the waste management of the government and international standard. The researcher used descriptive research also known as statistical survey that describes data about the process being studied. The purpose of this researcher is to observe, describe, and document. In this study, it is found that most people chose McDonalds as an international fast food chain and Countryside Steakhouse Restaurant as a local restaurant chain. The researcher recommend that all the fast food chains and restaurant must maintain the cleanliness in their area and must follow the laws about proper waste segregation even though that they are busy in giving service to their customers. Management is responsible for guiding their workers on how their waste will dispose properly according to the laws.
