Abstract

The study investigated the abundance of Pseudocholchius Tricolor in correlation with the physicochemical characteristics of the marine waters in Calatagan, Batangas. Sea cucumbers are important to the economic growth of the Philippine food and species diversity industry. Calatagan, Batagas holds different kinds of sea cucumber species that can be found under the rocks. Yet, only one species was gathered and identified the P.tricolor. 9 individuals of P.tricolor were collected, thus having a relative abundance of 100%. Almost all physico-chemical properties yielded a very low negative correlation except for pH which had no correlation to the abundance of the Pseudocholchius Tricolor species. The diversity of the Pseudocholchius Tricolor indicates the tolerance of the species to the marine environment.
