Sacmar, Byron C. Funding: Parents Research Cost: Php 2, 000.00 Date Started: August 2010 Date Completed: March 2011 Scope and Coverage: Methodology: This study used a descriptive research design, employing a non-probability sampling specifically the convenience sampling in giving of the survey questionnaire and purposive sampling in selecting the respondents. Reasons of the respondents for violating the rules and regulations of the school ranged from having a favorable outcome when not following the rule, frequent association to persons who are more inclined towards deviancy than conformity, and the schools’ control over the deviancy of every individual is weak or lacking. 4. Intelligence quotient is not related to the rule violating tendencies of the respondents for they showed an average IQ and the qualitative data gathered from the interview assured that the respondents know and understand the rules and regulations of the school. However, their deviance level may be factor for majority showed an elevated De La Salle University – Dasmariñas deviancy level and their reasons for breaking the rules are linked closely to theories on deviance. Conclusions: The following conclusions are made in light of the above-mentioned findings: 1. The respondents who have the most number of offenses are average in IQ 2. On the other hand, deviance is a factor for rule violating tendencies for majority of the respondents showed an elevated deviance level and their reasons for violating the rules are closely linked to theories on deviancy. De La Salle University – Dasmariñas Recommendations: The following recommendations are given in the light of the study: For future researchers. Future researchers may try to use other sample population, increase the number of respondents and utilize other psychological test. They may also use a different research method to further strengthen the findings of the study. Government Agencies. Utilizing the results of this study, the agencies that are responsible in maintaining the peace and order should spearhead activities that would involve adolescents and would enable them to enhance their skills and talent and would lead them to the right path and divert them from peers who are inclined to deviancy.
