Abstract

The study focused on the problems of selected female single parents in Alfonso Cavite during the year 1995-1996. It made an extensive research on the problems of single mothers in terms of child rearing-discipline and time, and communication, financial matters, and social environment. It concentrated on thirty (30) separated and widowed purposively selected. The personal variables of age, occupation, status, and the number of children were included in the study. The showed that single parents could still survive emotionally, physically and financially. They could find ways to rear their children the best they could. They asked help from their close relatives in terms of financial problems and implementing discipline. Based on the study conducted, being a single parents is not easy. The experience could terrible to those affected, especially that the lives and future of children largely depend on their parents.
