Abstract

The effect of Litchi chinensis L. (Lychee) on the CAM of 10-day old chick embryo is proven to inhibit angiogenesis. At the given concentration, the lychee crude fruit extract inhibited angiogenesis at 100ppt. The decrease of concentration starting 150ppt to 100ppt showed that the lychee fruit crude extract further inhibited angiogenesis. Thus, the results of the study show that as the concentration of lychee fruit crude extract decreases the number of blood vessels also decreases. Based on the results of the study, the effect of lychee fruit crude extract on angiogenesis of the CAM of a 10-day old chick embryo is inhibitory. It can help fight diseases like cancer.
