Abstract
The study focused on the occurrence of E.histolytica infection among the residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite and the risk factors associated with it. The presence of E.histolytica was determined through Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay. Survey form associated with the risk factors such as personal hygiene, food source, water source and environmental conditions were also determined. Out of 85 respondents, 23(27.06%) showed positive results to E. histolytica. Infection to E.histolytica did not show any association with gender, location, age, food sources, hygiene practices, and water sources. However, it showed significant correlation (p<0.05) with the type of toilet used.
