Abstract

The study aims to determine the effects of the different detoxicant treatment on Aflatoxin contaminated corn and determine which of these different detoxicant treatment is the best in destroying Aflatoxin present in corn. The detoxicant treatment are composed of ammonium hydroxide, ammonia, sodium hydroxide and thiabendazole at 0.5%. No chemicals were used in To (the control). A 0.5% detoxicant treatment was applied as T1, T2, T3 and T4 respectively. The weight of grains used and experimented is 200 grams. The grains were stored for one month. Results of the study showed that the yellow corn was positively infected by Aflatoxin. The four treatments have significant effect to the Aflatoxin contamination in yellow corn. Among the four treatments there is no significant differences in their effectivity. The researchers cannot determine which among the treatments is more effective.
