Abstract

This study covers the recidivists of Correctional Institute for Women. The study will center on the perceived effectivity of the rehabilitation program to the evaluation is considered as the basis of the institution's performance. The results were subjected to mean scores and percentile. From the findings of the study, it was concluded that to be most effective, any treatment-rehabilitative program should be formulated in relation to the needs and potentialities of a given individual, a consideration sometimes called In differential Treatment. though resocialization is designed to help the criminal to cope up with her situation and the stresses and strains that come along with, it will definitely prove futile unless it is properly administered based on an expert's diagnosis of which agents led to the occurrence of the criminal behavior. It was concluded that high recidivism rates following rehabilitation or treatment are objective indicators of the concept's unproductivity. By most measures, the rehabilitation treatment approach has not been impressive in reducing crime over the long term. Major reasons for this ineffectiveness seem to be faulty implementation of an alternative suppression model of behavior change or general resistance from the legal, political, social and correctional forces operating with the institution.
