The researchers gathered 23 respondents (boys and girls), having an age bracket of 13-18 years of age. The respondents in this research were the institutionalized children in conflict with the law in Bahay Kalinga. Methodology: In this research, the Descriptive Research Design was used to gather all the necessary information. The researchers used survey. Survey was utilized by the researchers in this study to identify the resiliency through the Resiliency Test which is a form of survey wherein the participants scaled themselves from 1 to 5; 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest. The respondents of this study were twenty-three (23) institutionalized children in conflict with the law in Bahay Kalinga, selected through purposive sampling. De La Salle University-Dasmariñas vii Findings: Problem No. 1: What is the demographic profile in terms of: age, gender, length of stay in Bahay Kalinga, and crime committed The demographic profile of the respondents was obtained through interview. The names of the respondents were changed to secure the confidentiality of the identity of the respondents. There were 23 respondents in this study. 21 of them were males and 2 were females, whose ages ranged from 13 years to 18 years old. 15 years old (9) got the most number, followed by 17 years old (6), 14 years old (3), 16 years old (2), 18 years old (2), and 13 years old (1).There were 8 different kinds of crime committed such as theft, robbery, rape, murder, frustrated murder, slander, physical injury, and riot. The most numbered crime was theft, wherein 11 of the respondents committed it, followed by 3 cases of rape, 2 cases of murder, and 2 cases with two different kinds of crime committed. 1 respondent for each remaining crime was not mentioned. Two of the respondents had been staying in Bahay Kalinga for 2 to 3 weeks, one for 1 week and the rest for a month to 1 year and a half. De La Salle University-Dasmariñas viii Problem No. 2: What are the problems encountered of the children in conflict with the law? The researcher found out three areas of problems such as in the family, with friends, and in the community. 8 out of 23 respondents came from a broken family, 7 of the respondents had no problem with their families, but 3 respondents had conflict with the members of the family.1 of the respondents said that money was also his problem. Abusive parent(s) was also part of the problems of 2 of the respondents. The findings also showed that 2 of the respondents had parent(s) who had passed away. The respondents had similar story as how they became broken families. In the case of having conflict with the members of the family, 3 of the respondents said that they were often scolded by either their brother, uncle, aunt or father whenever they would do wrong things. Furthermore, 2 of the respondents said that they had an abusive parent(s). 2 of the respondents had problem because one of the parents had passed away. The findings also found that 7 respondents had no problem with their family. De La Salle University-Dasmariñas ix Problem No. 3: What is the level of resiliency of the respondents as measured by Resiliency Test? Most of the respondents of the resiliency test got a score ranging from 2.60 to 3.39. According to their scores, they belong to moderate resiliency level with a percentage of 60.87. Only 5 of the respondents belong to the high resiliency level with a mean score ranging from 3.40-4.19 and a percentage of 21.74. Four of the respondents fall down to a result of low level of resiliency that has a percentage 17.39 out of 23 respondents. Conclusion: The researchers concluded that the problems encountered by CICL and their length of stay in the institution have an impact on their level of resiliency. The longer the CICL stay in the institution, the more they become resilient. Also, the researchers concluded that children have ability to bounce back in spite of the struggles in life and overcome traumatic experience. Recommendations Children in conflict with the law (CICL). They should be given programs that can help them to process themselves about the uncertainties that have happened to them. De La Salle University-Dasmariñas x Parents of CICL. Parents should go through group process, together with their children, so that they can establish better relationship and to be able to resolve some problems that the family is going through. Bahay Kalinga staff. The staff should be given seminars in connection with the behaviors of CICL and trainings that will help the staff in handling CICL. They should also create programs that can help the children to become more resilient. Local government unit/Communities. They should have seminars in their Barangay regarding prevention of crimes among children. Through seminars, the community can understand how they can take good care of their children in order to prevent crimes. Future Researchers. They should have different institutions so that the results of their research can be compared to the results of this study. Also, future researchers should expound their studies about CICL.
