Abstract

Abstract The study was conducted to create a maturity and sociability profile of daughters of house dads. The respondents who were chosen through purposive and snowball sampling were first interviewed with the use of a topic guide. They were also given questionnaires in the form of a self-responsibility test and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test. The study revealed that the respondents were generally fine with the situation of living with a house dad even though some remain to have misgivings about it. The results of the self-responsibility test showed that most of the respondents are very-self responsible. They have also learned to be independent and be accountable to the choices that they make especially because the fathers have allowed them to decide for themselves when it comes to clothing, choice of friends, and recreational activities. The MBTI test results revealed that most of the daughters are highly sociable or inclined to be with a group. Therefore, from the data gathered the Filipino family has come to cope with the house husband set-up and that growing up with a house dad affect the daughters’ maturity and sociability positively.
