Abstract

The research study was conducted primarily to see the effect of melody in poem recitation on the facilitation of the memory of Kindergarten pupils of Joy Pre-School Early Learning Center. Music was used to determine the role of melody in the performance of the children's memory process, whether they improved their memory when melody was used or they remained the same without it. FINDINGS: On the basis of gathered data and information by the researchers, the following were revealed : 1. The difference of the mean scores of both groups ascribes that there is no significant difference in the memory performance of the experimental and controlled group. These are based on the initial observations conducted. 2. The computed values are lesser than the theoretical value. They file within the area of rejection and have figure of equality. 3. The hypothesis of no significance coincides with data gathered from the test results of the pupils. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the careful analysis of the data, we accept since there is no significant difference between poem recitation in melody form and recitation form. One reason for the low mean scores of the experimental group may be due to their impersonal involvement in the heartful learning of the poem pressure. Likewise, no significant difference was provided by the mean scores of the control group. Early morning activities prior to the study could have possibly hindered their enthusiasm toward the activity.
