Abstract

This research study was conducted primarily to determine the effectivity of classical music in reducing test anxiety among highly anxious forth year AB Psychology students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo. Classical music was used to examine the students' test performance, whether it improved when they were exposed to classical music or if their test performance remained the same without classical music. Conclusion: Based on the foregoing findings and conclusion, the following recommendations are presented: 1. Those who wish to conduct the same study should utilize a larger sampling to get true representatives of the total population. 2. To test the effectivity of the study, the researchers should not limit their participants to AB Psychology students. There are other students from other courses whose academic demands burden then with higher anxiety level pressures (e.g., Physical Therapy, Nursing, Biology). 3. Classical music can be used in the school library to relax the students while reading or studying. 4. Other types of tests can be given to the participants of the study aside from the Purdue Non-Language Test such as reading comprehension tests. Findings: On the basis of gathered data and information resulting from this study, the following were revealed: 1. For the control group, the computed value is lesser than the theoretical value, which lies on the area of acceptance. 2. For the experimental group, the computed value is greater than the theoretical value, which lies on the area of rejection. 3. The experimental group having been exposed to both conditions yielded the most significant results.
