Abstract

The research study was conducted primarily to see the effect and causes of pathological gambling. On the basis of gathered data and information by the researchers, the following are revealed: 1. Gambling is an activity where in somebody puts something of valued at stake particularly money, with the expectation of either winning or losing depending on the outcome which may be determined either by chance, skill or combination of both. 2. The impulse to gamble cannot be resisted if you are already a pathological gambler. 3. A person could be considered as a pathological gambler if the person is always in a depressed mood, if there is feeling of resentment, impairment to social relation, feeling of inferiority and feeling of hopelessness.
