Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate on how to design priority programs for autistic children utilizing the behavioral approach. The study consisted of seven (7) autistic children currently enrolled in Cahbriba Alternative School Foundation located within Mt Pulog St. Umali Subdivision College, Laguna. It has been found out in this study that autistic children manifest a variety of behaviors that further vary in degrees of difficulty in handling complexity and magnitude. And that from those behaviors, one may identify which of these behaviors need immediate intervention. And out of the prioritized need, one may design a program to meet the prioritized need. It has also been found out that the rigidness of a program is relative to the autistic child's level of autism, level of communication, and if follow-up is being done at home. The seven subjects represented different behaviors with reference to the broad spectrum of disorders on the autistic continuum therefore rigidness of their programs varied.
