Abstract

This study was undertaken to describe the anurans diversity of Balite Balls in Amadeo, Cavite specifically, species richness and abundance of anurans in the area. This pioneering work provides baseline information on the different species of anurans that could be found in Balite Falls, Amadeo, Cavite. It will hopefully contribute pertinent data that may inspire other researchers to study other aspects of the resort’s biodiversity. Such data can lead to the appreciation of the importance of this ecopark in Amadeo. The researchers adopted the descriptive quantitative method of research to account and report (Glatthorn and Joyner, 2005) anuran of Balite Falls, Amadeo, Cavite. The descriptive method also allowed the researchers to describe the characteristics of the anurans by directly collecting and examining the specimens. It was found that the anuran Diversity of Balite falls is low based on the computed results through Shannon Index, having a result 1.58, ranges starts from 1-4, However, the Equitability result of 0.88 shows the even distribution of anurans in the area which imply that if sampling effort would be increased, evenness would still remain the same.
