Abstract
Mollusks have always been under man's scrutiny due to the beauty of their shells as well as their importance as a food source. This study is a descriptive survey of the shelled mollusks in the littoral area of Nasugbu Point, Nasugbu, Batangas. It aimed to taxonomize and determine the frequency and relative abundance of the shelled mollusks in the area, thus determining the distribution of the species. The shelled mollusks were collected by the use of nets to prod the sand. Those specimens that were stuck to rocks were pried off with a jackknife. The frequency of each species was then recorded and the relative abundance computed and tabulated. Findings revealed a total of 298 shelled mollusks were found in the area of study. These specimens consisted of two classes, 10 orders, 30 families, 39 genera and 56 species. The species Littorina scabra occurred the most often with 30 specimens covering the duration of the study.
