Abstract

The study aimed to know the relevance of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) on Elementary Science for the Elementary Level particularly Grade 6 students. This study used the strategy of system approach to be able to create a CAI lesson which is an effective teaching instrument. The CAI features included: skipping of chapters, graphic illustrations, printing of lessons, showing student's scores after every chapter test, hypertext for defining some terms, summary of chapters and the main text. At the end of the study, the author found out that the CAI is merely a supplementary or an aid to the science teaching with limited topics and features. Also, it would help the traditional way of teaching to be more improved for the science literacy of the students. Further develpment of the study is recommended.
