Abstract

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS The purpose of this study is to assess the extent of compliance of the buses operating in Southern National Capital Region on the DOT Accreditation Guidelines. Specifically, the researchers endeavored to answer the following questions: 1. What is the extent of compliance of the tourist buses with the accreditation guidelines set by the Department of Tourism in the following areas: 1.1 Registered Capacity 1.2 Roadworthiness 1.3 Left-hand Drive 1.4 Ventilation 1.5 Fire-fighting Facilities 1.6 Imprint of Companies Name and Logo 1.7 Public Address System 1.8 First-aid Kit 1.9 Seats 1.10 Storage Space 1.11 Garage 2. What are the issues and concerns of the tourist bus companies in relation to the compliance set by the Department of Tourism? 3. What development plan can be proposed? The researchers used interview and observation to determine the extent of compliance on the Accreditation Guidelines of the Department of Tourism among tourist bus companies in Southern National Capital Region. The respondents of this study were the four accredited tourist transport operators with buses in Southern NCR: Bel-Air Bus Charter Corporation, Transville Systems, GM Joe Tours and Transport, Aju Global Transport. The researchers conducted an interview to an employee to have firsthand information about the data needed for the study. The researchers also had an observation on the units of the company to assess the extent of compliance of the company.
