Abstract
ABSTRACT Miller Fisher Syndrome is a limited variant of Guillain Barre Syndrome and cases associated to it here in the Philippines are very rare. This syndrome occurs more in men than women with a ratio of 2:1. The lived experiences of the patient will be associated in the areas cognitive, affective and behavioral functioning. The research method used in this study is descriptive specifically phenomenology, describing experiences of a phenomenon with the help of the instrument of personal journal with one hundred ninety nine entries (191). The result showed that there are four (4) lived experiences emerged in this study such as 1) Experience of God/Spirit/Wisdom, (2) Transformational Event, (3) Family and friends as connective and healing, (4) Conflict of self. The change in cognitive functioning occurs at themes two and three, change in affective functioning were seen in theme four and change in behavioral functioning in theme one. Moreover, changes in the three psychological functioning were only seen in the phase of the illness.
