Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is entitled “The Effect of Group Conformity on Obedience Among Preschool Students of Citiville Christian Academy Inc. and Theos Learning Center.” The study deals with the effect of group conformity on obedience to see the change in behavior particularly among preschool children. The purposes of this study are to know the mean scores of the different treatment groups in obedience and to know if there is a significant difference between the mean scores of the participants in the experimental groups and the control group. The researcher used multiple independent groups between subject experimental design to determine the effect of independent variable (group conformity) on the dependent variable (obedience). There were ninety (90) participants involved. Six (6) confederates were used for each treatment condition that has five (5) phases. The three (3) treatment conditions are: 1) control group 2) obeying group 3) disobeying group. The research study resulted with the following data: there is no significant difference between the mean scores of the participants in the experimental groups and the control group of group conformity on obedience among the preschool students of Citiville Christian Academy Inc. and Theos Learning Center, F( 2, 87) = .4813, p > .05. The participants who were in the control group had the highest mean score (M= 4.366, S= .9480) and the participants who were in the disobeying group had the lowest mean score (M= 4.1333, S=.9213).
