Abstract
Qeuing theory refers to the mathematical study of waiting lines. In business and industry, queuing system plays an important role in improving the service of a company, maximizing the profit and minimizing the cost spent by a company-Dasmarinas Water District DBB-B congressional avenue branch is one of the divisions of Dasmarinas Water District. The concept of the is study is about the evaluation of the existing queuing system in the water district office. The water district office has a model of M/M/5FCFS/oo. The first notation denotes that the arrival rate of customers follows a poisson distribution; the second one signifies that the service rate of customers per unit of time following exponential distribution while the third explains that the system has 5 servers. The fourth describes the system that it follows a first-come-first-serve basis and the last symbol denotes that the system has a infinite number of customers arrive per unit of time. The researchers used Microsoft Excel and a queuing analysis of data, it was found out that during the opening of the water district office, the average arrival rate of customers is greater than the average service time of customers. Through the queuing analysis software, adding one server will achieve the optimality of the system. Hence, the researcher proposed an additional one server in the facility since the company is most likely a service-oriented company and shoehow, not a profit-based company.
