Abstract

The proponents proposed network-based payroll system for Mechanical Key Parts Inc. which contained modules for login/logout, computation of salary, and generation of pay slips and reports to help solve the current problems the company is facing. For the time monitoring of employees, the proponents provided a biometrics finger print scanner, a device which will determine the time and day the employee has logged in or logged out. After logging in, it will monitor the hours worked of the employee and once it is logged out, the record will be transferred to the payroll administrator for it to compute the employee’s salary. Be it on a semi-monthly basis or on a monthly basis. For the computation of salary, it includes all the hours of work rendered by an employee plus its overtime rates, incentives, allowances, and most of all, the deduction done by the existing system processes. The deductions include SSS, Pag – Ibig, Philhealth, Withholding Tax and HMI. From the gross pay, all the deductions will be taken to get the net pay, and after all of these computations are done, the reports are generated. Generation of reports for employees and the managers are necessary. For the employees, they will receive a pay slip that includes all of the information of their salary and how the payroll administrator processed it. For the managers, they will receive reports such as, deduction reports, payroll reports, and attendance reports to maintain and keep track of employees performance for their company.
