Abstract

Coconut Hills Beach Resort uses manual system in its reservation and billing. As a result, the result has encountered problems in most transactions. The problem caused by information that is redundantly copied, inaccurate and losing it data. In effect, these raised concerns on security. Another problem is insufficient data backup. It needs a database for easy maintenance. The proponent proposed Online billing and reservation for Coconut Hills Beach Resort which contained modules for login/logout, reservations, billing computation and generation of reports to helps the current problems that the resort is facing. The proponent created a solution by developing a useful and efficient billing and reservation system. The system that is uploaded online to respond to the problems cited in the resort’s system. The system features the reservation and maintenance of facilities, amenities, rooms, function rooms and packages online. For the data security, the proponents came up with providing username and password for the certain users to secure their accounts. After signing in, they can now reserve rooms, amenities or function rooms they want to reserve. They can also view the reservation details they reserved. For the monitoring of reservations, the proponents provided a report for that. The staff/administrator can generate a daily, monthly and yearly report for tracking the reservations. The system can also view the income of the resort. Generation of reports is easier since the system has the capability to eliminate the inconsistencies. Through the system that the proponent proposed, the problems encountered by the company will be minimized and the workload of the employees will be lessened.
