Abstract

Motor vehicles have been one of the top contributors in air pollution and the emission from vehicular combustion engines contain chemical gaseous elements which contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer. Due to increasing problems in air pollution, the government has raised campaigns such as emission testing centers that are believed to be helpful in decreasing the polluting emissions into the environment. But with the group‟s research regarding these centers, there were circumstances when motorist‟s vehicle failed in emission testing. Cheating occurs such as bribery to pass emission testing procedures. This enlightened the group to create a system that has automated emission testing equipment and has a function of monitoring each vehicle‟s emission. It is a device that measure gaseous chemicals emitted by motor vehicles - Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide and Hydrocarbon. Furthermore, the group also made a database and a system that would store and illustrate the reading of the device in order to perform the automated emission testing.
