Abstract
The game Space Escape is a 3D game focusing on simulating the feel of the traditional shoot em up games like Space Impact, Space Invaders and many others to the 3D platform. The game maintains the chaotic and fun atmosphere of 2D shoot em up games but added a 3D play style and randomness in the enemy appearance to add to the replay value of the game. In this game, the player takes control of a ship in which the player is given the option to upgrade the ship by use of coins which are acquired through the different levels of the game. The game has two modes – story mode and endurance mode which is a level in which the game will continue and add difficulty and will only end after the player’s ship has been destroyed. The game was made using XNA which is a set of tools with a managed runtime environment that facilitates video game development and uses C# as its programming language.
