Abstract

The study aimed to determine the different genus/species of wood-rotting fungi found in Mt. Palay-Palay/ Mataas Na Gulod, Ternate, Cavite. The study involved the descriptive research method. The collection was done randomly in the study area following a transect line away from the DENR Nursery site towards the north altitude of the peak. All the wood-rotting fungi genera/species observed in the trails were recorded and samples with duplicates were collected for identification. A total of 28 species of wood-rotting fungi were collected from the area of study. These species were classified into 14 families and 19 genera. Division Basidiomycota had the richest species while the least found was Division Myxomycota.
