Abstract

The study focused mainly on the survey of aquatic bugs found in Mt. Palay-Palay / Mataas na Gulod National Park Ternate, Cavite. Identification and classification of aquatic bugs was the main goal of the study. Aquatic bugs were collected with the use of aquatic nets. Collected aquatic bugs were killed by dropping them directly into 70-80% ethyl alcohol where they could be store indefinitely. Preservation was done by mounting them on pins and was classified according to their taxonomic accounts. As a result, seven species of aquatic bugs were collected in the study area. The species collected were identified as Limnometra species, Metrocoris luzonicus Polhemus, Tenagogomus species, Rhagovelia species, Cercotmetus brevipes Montandon, Enithares species and Hydrometra species. Limnometra species proved to be the most abundant and the least abundant species is the Hydrometra species.
