Abstract

The study intended to develop an automated dictionary of computer terms. The concept of Rapid prototyping was used for the development of the system. The study employed software that was implemented on a Pentium 133Mhz computer using the Windows 95 interface. This software which facilitated word searching, viewing definition and pictures, editing information about terms, saving to a file and creating print out of terms information is also capable to keeps records of information of terms in the database file and index by terms. On the basis of the findings, it was concluded that the software could provide efficiency in searching terms, editing, adding, deleting, saving of information is permitted, powerful hypertext ability, and capable of pronouncing terms. Yet, further enhancement can be made to make the software more effective.
