Abstract

ABSTRACT The primary focus of this study was to know the effect of mimicry towards social interaction among preparatory students. The study was applied to children whose ages ranged from five to six years. This study was a quantitative research and utilized a trueexperimental design. Randomization was used in selecting the participants. The procedure involved a screening by using the Rubric for Observational Social Interaction for Preparatory. Moreover, Rubric for Observational Social Interaction was used in gathering the needed data. To determine the effect of mimicry on social interaction, post-test scores of the participants who had no mimicry and post-test scores of participants who had mimicry were compared. Using independent t-test, significant difference on post-test mean scores of social interaction under the control and experimental was revealed. Thus, mimicry and social interaction is deeply connected with each other.
