The researcher will have an assessment on the demographic profile of the respondents. The respondents will be interviewed one by one. Case study emphasizes detailed contextual analysis of a limited number of events or conditions and their relationships. Researchers have used the case study research method for many years across a variety of disciplines. Social scientists, in particular, have made wide use of this qualitative research method to examine contemporary real-life situations and provide the basis for the application of ideas and extension of methods (http://www.gslis.utexas.edu/~ssoy/usesusers/l391d1b.htm. Yin, 1984, p. 23). Descriptive method is also a form of qualitative research. According to Mcmillan (1992) it stresses a phenomenological model in which reality is rooted in the perceptions of their subjects. The goal of this research is to have a ground theory, develop understanding, and capture naturally occurring behavior about the student activistsí personality and its connection to their academic performance. As a descriptive study using the case study type, better understanding about the life and personality of an student vi activist will be realized as well as to know how their personality affects their academic performance. In the study, a personality test will be administered to the respondents and implicate it to their academic performance to determine if their personality has implication to the academic performance of the selected Polytechnic University of the Philippines student activists. Summary of Findings The following findings resulted from the study: 1. There are two male and two female respondents with age ranging from 17-18 years old. Majority of the respondents are in lower class of socio economic status. 2. There are three types of personality revealed from the respondents. The introverted intuitive feeling judging, extroverted intuitive thinking judging and the extroverted sensing feeling judging type of personality. Two of them have the same personality type, the extroverted sensing feeling judging personality type. vii 3. The academic performances of the respondents are ranging from 1.75-2.5 from their previous general average last semester school year 2006-2007. Majority of them are in the average level. 4. The personality profile of the respondents has an implication to their academic performance and majority of them has a good academic grades. Conclusion In the light of the findings generated, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. The demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex and socio economic status is the common demographic profile of a student activist. 2. Majority of the respondentsí personality type is extroverted sensing feeling judging type which possesses a characteristic of being pro active and influenced more by their intension in outward reality. 3. The respondentsí academic performance is on the average level and they can still manage and balance their academics at the same time their being a member of the organization. viii 4. There is an implication of the personality profile to the academic performance of the respondents in a way that they belong to the average level of academic performance. Recommendation Based on the strengths and weaknesses of the investigated data, the following recommendations are herby presented: 1. The future researchers should pursue extensive studies for more generalized results. Since this is a descriptive case study, they can use other descriptive research method and get a non purposive sampling of respondents. 2. Since we learned that most of the student activist personality is clinging on the extroversion, it is important that the administration of the universities must develop a program wherein the studentsí interests, skills and personalities will be enhanced in a positive way. 3. For the government make a program for all student activist in our country that will let them enhance and be guided well of their personality. ix 4. For the administration of the schools or universities that activism is rampant should develop a policy that will enable the students to join in such organization to voice out their rights and interests at the same time have a good academic performance so that they will not be diverted totally to the real purpose why they are in school. 5. For the gathering of other related literature for this study, the future researcher should have linkages to other universities that activism is rampant like the university of the Philippines. Through the related literature from this university, it will help this study to be more stable and reliable. 6. For the parents should understand and guide well their children with this kind of personality type so that they will grow up and becomes mature individual that will not be a burden to our society but be a help for the progress of our nation.
