Specific: 1. To determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, occupation, educational attainment, religious affiliations, and length of marriage and practice of conjugal visit was considered for the selection. 2. To determine the profile of sexual intimacy of the respondents as measured by the Marital Satisfaction Inventory (MSI) particularly the sexual dissatisfaction. 3. To determine the subjective well-being of the respondents on conjugal visit as revealed in the In-depth interview. 4. To determine the implication of sexual intimacy to the subjective well-being of the respondents. SCOPE AND COVERAGE: The study sought to determine the implications of conjugal visit of inmates’ wives on their subjective well-being. The respondents of this study were nine (9) inmates’ wives from Muntinlupa Bilibid Prison with ages ranging from 23 - 50 years old. The descriptive research using case study method was used to conduct this study. In-depth interview, Marital Satisfaction Inventory (MSI) and a self-made satisfaction scale were used to collect the data to determine the implications of conjugal visit of inmates’ wives on their subjective wellbeing. In analysis of data gathered the researchers evaluated the responses qualitatively. MAJOR FINDINGS: 1. The demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age shows that there were two (2) or 22% of them were in the age of 20’s, four (4) or 44% of them are in their 30’s. Another two (2) or 22% of the respondents belongs to the age of 40, and one (1) or 11% is in her 50. With regards to educational attainment, most of the respondents were able to reach college but only two (2) or 22% of them graduated. The other four (4) or 44% weren’t able to finish college. Three (3) or 33% of the respondents couldn’t make it to college. In terms of religious affiliation, majority of the respondents, seven (7) or 78% are Roman Catholic, two (2) or 22% are Born Again Christian and Aglipay. 2. The profile of sexual intimacy of the respondents shows that there were six (6) or 67% who scored “below 50” which indicate a generally positive attitude toward the overall quality of their sexual relationship with their husbands. Three (3) or 33% reflected that there is an increasing influence of their sexual relationship as a source of marital distress. Their scores may indicate dissatisfaction with either the frequency or variety of sexual activity. 3. The results of the interview and satisfaction scale on the subjective well-being of the respondents on conjugal visit revealed that seven (7) or 78% respondents evaluated themselves as satisfied with the benefits they get from the conjugal visit while the other two (2) or 22% evaluated their selves as slightly and extremely satisfied. 4. The implication of sexual intimacy to the subjective well-being of the respondents explained that all of the wives enjoy having sex with their husbands. It makes them satisfied and happy. But four (4) or 44% believes that sex is not the only source of their satisfaction and happiness. CONCLUSION: In the light of the findings, the following conclusions were drawn. 1. Majority of the respondents, seven (7) or 78% were Roman Catholic believers. Two (2) or 22% of them were Born Again Christian and Aglipayan respectively. 2. Most of the wives have generally positive attitude toward the overall quality of their sexual relationship with their spouses. 3. Based on the results of the self-made satisfaction scale of the researchers, seven (7) or 78% respondents evaluated themselves as satisfied with the benefits they get from the conjugal visit while the other two (2) or 22% evaluated themselves as slightly and extremely satisfied. 4. Sexual intimacy contributes to the subjective well-being of the inmates’ wives. However, it is not the only source of their satisfaction. RECOMMENDATION: The following are recommended and further study could be conducted: 1. For future researchers to conduct a similar study with inmates as respondents. 2. For future researchers to conduct similar study using experimental research or other research designs. 3. Research on the SWB of inmates’ husbands for future reserchears. 4. For the policy makers of the Bilibid prisons to provide programs that will help strengthen the marital relationship of the inmates’ and their wives.
