GENERAL To be able to know the personality profile of single teenage mothers of De La Salle University - Dasmariñas and its implication to their future career plans. B. SPECIFIC 1. To determine the personality profile of selected single teenage mothers in terms of their self-concept, emotional maturity, and attitude in life. 2. To know the respondents’ future career plans. 3. To be bale to analyze the association between the respondents’ personality profile with their future career plans. SOPE AND COVERAGE: This study attempts to measure the personality profile of the respondents through the use of three factors namely: self concept, emotional maturity, and attitude in life. It is focused mainly on teenage mothers who are not yet married and studying at De la Salle University-Dasmariñas ages 19- 24 years old. The researchers know the prevalence of teenage mothers in De La Salle University-Dasmarinas that’s why they have chosen to conduct the study. The total number of respondents the researchers have selected is 8. Standardized tests and interviews will be conducted to all the respondents who are currently enrolled in De La Salle University-Dasmariñas. METHODOLOGY: The descriptive method specifically case study was used in this study. Eight (8) selected single teenage mothers ranging from 19 to 24 years of age studying in De La Salle University – Dasmariñas was the respondents of the said study. Respective psychological tests were acquired from the internet and were administered to the respondents. The tests include Emotional Quotient Test, Happiness Test, Rotter’s Locus of Control Scale, and selfmade interview guide questionnaire. MAJOR FINDINGS: There were six respondents who have a healthy internal locus of control and believe that events result primarily from their own behavior and resources, while two of them have an external locus of control and believe that forces out of their control, such as powerful others, fate, or chance primarily determine events. Emotional Quotient Test (EQ Test) was used to measure the level of the respondents’ emotional maturity. One out of the eight respondents obtained the result of slightly low score, five of them attained a slightly above average score, and only two of them are in the high level of emotional maturity. The Happiness Test was applied to determine the attitude in life of the selected single teenage mothers. Four out of eight respondents fall under slightly satisfied category; three of them fall under the satisfied category. However, only one of them falls under the highly satisfied category. An in-depth interview was used to find out the future career plans the respondents would like to have. All of the eight respondents have a vision of what careers they want to have in the future as well as the road they have to take to be able to get there. There is an association that exists between the personality profile of the selected single mothers and their future career plans. It proves that not all single teenage mothers were found to lose sight of their goals and plans for the future especially when it comes to their future careers. The only reason why some of them were not able to balance being a mother and having a career is because they lack a strong sense of self concept, not being mature enough, and having a poor attitude in life. CONCLUSIONS: 1. Majority of the selected single teenage mothers of De La Salle University Dasmariñas in relation to their self-concept, have a healthy internal locus of control. In terms of their emotional maturity, most of them have slightly above average score of emotional quotient. Lastly, half of the respondents scored slightly satisfied with regard to their attitude in life. 2. All of the respondents have a clear vision of the career they want to pursue. 3. The personality profile of the selected single teenage mothers reflect their future career plans and is important in pursuing the career that they want to have since there is an association that exist between the two. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. The selected single teenage mothers should understand the importance of becoming a mother and at the same time allowing themselves to pursue a career that will bring forth fulfillment to their lives. 2. The educators should feel empathy for these women by giving them the necessary considerations since they are still in the transition of becoming a mother that is coupled by many other responsibilities at such an early age. 3. The peers must understand that becoming a mother takes a lot of hard work; it would be helpful if they give their moral and emotional support to these women whenever needed. 4. The parents should guide their child into becoming a better person and bring them up with the Lord’s loving discipline and Godly advice. 5. The researchers must conduct a more extensive related study for the benefit of the general public.
