Abstract

NAME OF INSTITUTION: De La Salle University – Dasmariñas ADDRESS: City of Dasmariñas, Cavite TITLE: Relationship of Job Satisfaction and Commitment to the Teachers’ Efficacy of SPED Educators AUTHORS: Tricia Denise C. Fabul Marielle May B. Sotto FUNDING SOURCE: Parents COST: 13,000 Php DATE STARTED: June 2013 DATE FINISHED: March 2014 SCOPE AND COVERAGE: The primary goal of this research was to study the job satisfaction and commitment in relation to the sense of efficacy of Special Education Teachers of school year 2013-2014. The study focused on 29 Special Education Teachers in selected schools in Pasig City and is limited only to the information gathered by the researchers using the intended survey questionnaire for each variable. Respondents were chosen regardless of their age, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas vi sex, marital status, and years of teaching. The study focused on job satisfaction, commitment and sense of efficacy of the said respondents. METHODOLOGY: The researchers utilized a descriptive correlational design to determine the relationship of job satisfaction and commitment to the teachers’ efficacy of 29 Special Education Teachers in Pasig City. RESULTS: The results showed that in terms of job satisfaction, professional commitment, organizational commitment and teachers’ efficacy, the SPED educators fall on the average level. Moreover, in terms of the relationship job satisfaction, professional commitment and organizational commitment with the teachers’ efficacy of SPED educators, results showed that no significant relationships were found. Recommendations are also made on how to keep the job satisfaction, professional and organizational commitment and teachers’ efficacy of SPED educators high. In the light of the results of the present study, the researchers suggest that a further analysis be carried out based on the data obtained.
